Plenary Presentation
Dynamic Poising Update
and
The Life and Times of Edward Howard
Blair Chandler - OVWCCC Member
Poising Update: One of our new members sent me some very interesting information that I would like to share with the group. It will help clarify some grey areas from my previous presentation.
Edward Howard: This talk will concentrate on Edward Howard as a Clockmaker and Watchmaker, and on the period of his career. The audience will be surprised to hear that Mr. Howard made much more than watches and clocks, and was a pioneer in several new, burgeoning industries of the 19th century. His focus on quality, as well as his involvement in the creation of the first industrial watchmaking factory in the world, will also be detailed.
Blair has a background in Mechanical Engineering and worked as an Industrial Engineer for most of his career.
Blair is a dedicated horologist with over 17 years of experience repairing watches and clocks, and spent his career in Mechanical Engineering. He has been an active member of the NAWCC club in Montreal for more than 15 years and joined the OWVCCC in Ottawa over six years ago, where he regularly teaches and presents technical topics. Blair’s passion for collecting timepieces, tools, and books, along with his technical presentations, has made him a valuable contributor to the horological community.
French Clock Count Wheel Setup
Denis Kishinevsky - OVWCCC Member
Denis will walk us through the complex and critical count wheel timing requirements requiremenst for French clocks such as Marti and Japy Freres.

My passion for horology runs very deep. The allure of Pocket and Wristwatch Chronographs, 400-day anniversary German timepieces, and French carriage clocks is undeniable. Such precision work is essential to maintaining the legacy of timekeeping and is, for me, more than a hobby; it is a true passion.
I am sincerely grateful and honoured to be a member of this distinguished club.
